London Lessons
On Saturday our pupils travelled to London to take part in more academic workshops.
The Canal Museum pupils learned about the history of Britain's waterways, including the traditional ice house. They made their own ice cream to the pre-freezer recipe - and got to eat it, too!
The Fashion Museum pupils designed their own haute couture outfit in a lesson from the initial idea to the final, fabulous product.
In the Bow Street Police Museum our intrepid sleuths were able to investigate the art of finger printing to track down criminals, and took a look inside the real-life cells.
The STEM pupils explored the development of DNA as a scientific and investigative tool at the world famous Royal Institution . They turned detective and were able to solve a murder mystery by using DNA to track down the culprit. At the Kirkaldy Testing Works one of the English + groups had a smashing experience experimenting on pressure and breaking points in a workshop setting.
After the lessons finished, the children took to the water on the Thames Tigers speedboat, or took a spin in the London Eye to get a bird's eye view of the historic city.
