All Aboard the Cutty Sark, and a step back and forward in Time

Our pupils visited the maritime village of Greenwich this week, where the ABH students boarded the 19th Century tea clipper, the Cutty Sark.  The fastest ship of its era, the Cutty Sark began ferrying tea from China before venturing further afield to Australia to transport wool from the recently colonised antipodes. They also learned the story of its stolen bell, and how it was reclaimed.

The STEM pupils travelled to the Royal Observatory (home of Greenwich Mean Time) where you can literally jump across the Prime Meridian Line.

The ship's stolen bell was reunited with its rightful owner
